Saturday Dec. 5th B.R. Blooms Tree Lighting Ceremony





B.R. Blooms Tree Lighting Ceremony at 4 p.m. at the Fire Hall. Come out and enjoy the beginning of this festive season. Coffee and treats.

Wednesday, December 9th


Diners’ Dinner will begin at 11 a.m. because the children’s choir of Ridgewood Public School will be presenting their annual Christmas concert. A country auction will also be featured.

Saturday Dec. 12th Burnt River Library Events

10:30 a.m. children’s Christmas craft time.

Saturday December 12Burnt River Firefighter’s Annual Toy Drive



Burnt River Firefighter’s will host their 3rd annual toy drive at the Community Centre.
Kids program 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. There will be face painting, games, Sparky, and Santa may pay a visit too.
From 1:30 p.m. until 6 p.m. live bands will entertain you.
The cost of this event is $10.00 each or a new unwrapped toy. Kids under 12 free.
Food is available at a nominal cost. Lots of fun for the whole family. Help our Firefighter’s make Christmas morning a happy event for some children in our area.

Sunday, December 13th



St. Luke’s Anglican Church and BRASS present the annual Community Potluck Christmas dinner at the Community Centre. Everyone is welcome. There will be a Toonie Auction as well as a delicious dinner. Following dinner, there will be a candlelight parade to St. Luke’s Anglican Church for a special carol service. Come out and join in for any or all of these events.

4:30 for non alcoholic punch, cider, toonie table 5:30 for dinner
6:30 for candlelight parade 7:00 for carol service

St. Luke’s church is creating a tree of warmth for the Christmas season. This tree will be decorated with mittens, hats, scarves, socks etc. These will be donated to help local children stay warm this winter. If you wish to donate to this, please bring them to the potluck dinner or call Wendy at 454-8878 or Marian at 454-1708.

Sunday, December 20th



Burnt River United Church invites the community to their annual Christmas Concert Program commencing at 7:30 pm. A lunch will follow.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Have you ever considered becoming more involved and contributing to your community? Then, the Board of Management of the Burnt River Community Centre NEEDS YOU! This is a volunteer Board consisting of nine positions appointed by Council on a rotating basis for a three year term. Applications for all volunteer positions/boards in the City are advertised soon in the local press and new appointments will be confirmed by Council. Currently, there are vacancies on our local BRCC Board and do consider this an opportunity to serve your community. It would certainly be beneficial if the Board Membership was representative of ALL COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS who use the Centre. If interested in serving or for more information, please call the chair of the Management Board, Erin Handley at 454 8627.
