BURNT RIVER ACTIVITIES GUIDE
OCTOBER 2009

October at the Library
All Libraries in the City of Kawartha Lakes will be running a program called “One Book One Community” during October and November.
Everyone in the City, adults and children alike, are encouraged to read a book called Silverwing by Kenneth Oppel. It is a delightful story about the adventures of a young bat. (appropriate for Halloween month!) This is a unique opportunity for family members to enjoy a common theme. Watch for displays and activities to come during these two months.

Saturday, October 10th & 24th 10:30 a.m. Children’s Bat crafts at Burnt River Library.

The Fire Hall will be open for the kids and parents to visit and refreshments will be available. This will also be classed as a safe place.
Open from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

Thought for the Month: “Thank you for thy bountiful blessings and for the richness of the harvest” -------“Trick or treat, trick or treat, give us something good to eat!!” Somehow kids figure out how to deal with these two disparate attitudes in October.
